"Very friendly, even during my first phone call with Ms Külz, she made a very open and personable impression. Due to my circumstances, I was also given an appointment very quickly, even though it was just before Christmas and I had actually expected to have to wait until the new year. My pronouns were used without a single exception, and my transition is a big issue. The medical history forms are written in the generic masculine, but Ms Külz pointed this out herself when she handed them to me, apologised and explained that she is in the process of revising the forms. Ms Külz uses gender-neutral language. She always asks for consent before addressing certain topics and leaves it up to me to decide which topics I would like to discuss in each session. She listens attentively without taking notes and yet knows not only the problems and their contexts but also the first names of almost all my caregivers. Ms Külz also communicates when she herself is less familiar with certain topics, which I greatly appreciate. When I talk about complex emotions or thoughts, she tells me how she understands them and asks for confirmation or corrections. I don't have a deep connection with the other therapists in the practice, but they all seem very attentive as well."
