‘Even though Dr Marks is not trained in the subject of queer/trans identities, he approaches the topic with openness, understanding and curiosity. When I mentioned that I would prefer not to be addressed using gendered pronouns (Mr/Mrs), he immediately suggested using just my name; he also made a note of my chosen (preferred) first name.’
