Clinic | "The outpatient clinic does everything in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, especially FFS for trans people with Dr. Voß" | "I didn't have to pay anything, it all went through my health insurance, the people there helped me to get the right documents together for my health insurance" | "I was treated respectfully, but not by all the staff. That's why I tried to keep in touch with one person, Mrs. Steffen, who is Dr. Voß's assistant. She always made sure to address me with the correct pronouns and to answer my questions." | "In total [I] went twice, the first time to discuss all the organisational things (what I needed for the health insurance and so on), then the practice sent me a letter which I sent to my health insurance company with other documents. When my health insurance approved the operation, I met the surgeon a second time to discuss the operation (what would be done and so on). A discussion in the anaesthetics department was also necessary" | "The assumption of the costs for FFS by the GKV is a matter of luck and unfortunately depends on many factors, but a discussion with Dr. Voß and his assistant helped me personally a lot. My psychotherapist also helped me with a well-written report. It can take up to a year to get an appointment for surgery, but it can also be quicker."
