‘Unfortunately, the written material isn’t gender-neutral. However, all the staff were very sensitive and actively and respectfully asked about how I’d like to be addressed and my pronouns’ / ‘Although the practice is trans*-sensitive, it doesn’t seem to have much experience with trans* people and isn’t specialised in this area’ | "[The medical history form] was good. There was a question on the form about contraception. I wrote ‘I’m a lesbian’ in the space provided, which was enough to ensure the topic wasn’t brought up at all, which was fine by me.” / “The doctor was very empathetic during the examination. [The] doctor [was] the first to suggest an alternative to medication […]. Two other practices (my GP and the endocrinology department) hadn’t offered any alternative (they’d only mentioned dietary advice)."
