When I said ‘queer’ and was referring primarily to sexuality, Dr Darrmann nevertheless checked whether he needed to adjust the use of pronouns and preferred name. He didn’t need to, but he was very attentive. He also seemed to be sensitive to traumatic experiences and sexual trauma."
