"The registration form isn’t gender-neutral. I had come out as a trans man whilst already being a patient, before I’d changed my first name and legal gender. The receptionist entered the name I’d chosen and changed my gender to ‘diverse’ in the system. At my next appointment, there were initially problems because another medical assistant misgendered me behind my back, as the data was always automatically reverted when my health insurance card was scanned. However, these problems didn’t occur at subsequent appointments, and each time the staff at the reception desk updated my details from the health insurance card to my chosen name without any issues or comments; as a result, my name was always called correctly, and paper prescriptions, medication plans, etc. were also issued in my chosen name. Neither Clemens nor Conrad Schiefer had any issue with me wearing a binder during the examinations."
