‘I was treated respectfully, but I also pass well. I didn't fill out a medical history form and wasn't asked how I wanted to be addressed.’ | "I pass well. I mentioned that I take testosterone among my medications, and the doctor asked why, whether I had a deficiency. I replied, “So to speak, congenital,” and he replied, 'Oh, ah yes, I wouldn't have guessed that‘ (meaning he understood that I am trans*) and didn't ask any further questions about it. I felt good that he understood so directly and is apparently familiar with trans* people. He also knew that testosterone can cause liver damage and gave me better information about this.’
